L. Allen Veach (Allen) wants you to enjoy his writing. He wants you to get lost in the plots, the characters and the action. Reading thrillers should be enjoyable, gut wrenching and, ultimately, rewarding. You the reader should be able to have fun and be glued to the prose.
Creating intricate plots, non-stop action, complex characters and crisp dialog is what Allen delivers to you; that you might enjoy such creations is a satisfaction beyond words…even for a writer.
Allen has had the benefit of many experiences, met an extraordinary number of people and has visited many places at home and abroad. He wants to expose you to the most interesting and compelling elements of his background. This includes many military members and leaders. The many experiences are the fodder of his creativity, without question. He invites you into his world of action, suspense, intrigue and thrills.
Allen is a “social introvert” who loves people and dogs. (He says his next dog’s name will be “Thriller”). He prefers written communication (no surprise there, right?). His hobbies are numerous…with a love of reading, motorcycles and boats at the top. Allen is supported by his highly talented (and extroverted) wife, Beth, who is a coach to entrepreneurs, long time university trustee, a remarkable thinker and a darn good book critic. She makes him feel blessed!
Allen learned to be an entrepreneur by working in financial services for many years. He then started a motorcycle apparel company from scratch and built it to a national brand before selling it. Since then, he has been primarily focused on writing but dabbles a bit in business, as old habits die hard.
Writing for business marketing lured him to the keyboard. He is a prolific thriller reader (often reading several novels simultaneously). He is addicted to Lee Child and Jack Reacher, Vince Flynn and Mitch Rapp, Brad Thor and Scot Harvath, Daniel Silva and Gabriel Allon, to name a few. And every thriller writer must be in love with Follett’s Eye of The Needle, right? Writing action thrillers was a very easy transition; he has many stories bouncing around in his head and loves getting them down on paper. When terrorist and drug activities erupted in the last two decades and brave people rose to meet the challenges, the inspiration was easy and natural. The trick now is keeping up with the daily headlines!
Allen lives and writes in beautiful Upstate South Carolina. His goal as a writer is to bring you the reader along on an adventure, to challenge you, thrill you, shock you, confuse you, touch you and give you the resolution that finally…allows you to exhale. He wants you right there as a sidekick. Your enjoyment is his bliss…come on in!
